Relying on intuition alone creates problems

Over the past year and a half, we have had extensive conversations with small business owners, searching, as they say, for the need to implement a business process automation system. But the paradox is that such a need does not exist. There are problems — many problems: liquidity shortages, distrust of key employees, “lost” funds, inability to attract investment due to fear (lack of transparency), and much more.

All these problems have their own unique and not-so-unique causes, but in the vast majority of cases, they all stem from one — the peculiarities of our brain that lead to distortion of reality, blurring of horizons, and narrowing of focus. No matter how smart, any person cannot control the full variety of events occurring in a company with even one employee — a self-employed individual — relying solely on their memory and analytical abilities.

This illusory control leads to distortion of the existing picture of the enterprise, cause-and-effect relationships, and consequently actions that often do not lead to the expected result. The simplest way to verify that this is relevant to everyone — spend six months recording your family expenses and see that the distribution and percentage of total expenses by category will be completely different from what you thought.

A tool for reflecting reality

Therefore, the first thing any business needs is to learn to record all its actions in a way that does not distort the essence of events, is comprehensive and chronological. Then, even if you don’t know what to do with this data today, tomorrow, when the need or opportunity arises, you can rely not on your imagination, but on facts.

Another question is that in the modern world, recording facts on paper or in Excel is inefficient, because then working with this data, not to mention systematization and multifaceted analysis, will be so difficult that cases where the task is worth the effort may never arise.

But the world is not without good people and good software, where this is easy, reliable, and accessible — like our product — so it’s worth starting today.
